first you need to unzip and extract the fonts, read the .txt files you will be installing the .ttf files. Use Winzip, Winrar or similar to unzip the free fonts .zip files you downloaded from us. me has a built in unzipping tool. extract them to a temporary folder that you can create on your desktop. from that temp folder you will drag and drop your font files or navigate to it to install the files.

Go to START, then SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL. Double click on FONTS. Choose FILE from the menu bar, then INSTALL NEW FONT. From the dialogue box navigate to the location of your extracted fonts and click OK.

You can also get to the CONTROL PANEL by double clicking on MY COMPUTER.

Go to START, then PROGRAMS, then ACCESSORIES, click on WINDOWS EXPLORER. Double click on the C hard drive. Double click on WINDOWS, then double click on FONTS. Depending upon how many fonts you have installed it may be slow to open. Drop the extracted fonts into the open FONTS WINDOW. If it comes up and says to uninstall the font first it just means you already have that font or a font with the same name installed. Either click on the font in the FONT WINDOW and delete the old font or just say OK to forget it. You can drop more than one font into the FONT WINDOW.
