About the Curator

This archive is curated by Dr. Pedro Bastos, a Brazilian urologist, surgeon, and long-time admirer of the early internet — the era of table-based layouts, animated GIFs, web rings, guestbooks, and experimental one-page designs.

What started as a personal collection of old webmaster tools and forgotten resources gradually became this small “digital museum”. The aim is simple:

“The old web was imperfect, experimental, and full of personality — and that is exactly why it deserves to be preserved.”

Professional life (outside the retro web)

Outside of internet archaeology, Dr. Pedro works clinically with urology, kidney stone disease, laser and minimally invasive surgery.

Why preserve old websites?

Simple: the early internet represents creativity without templates. Everything was handcrafted. Nothing was “auto-generated”. Sites broke, blinked, scrolled sideways — and were unforgettable.

This project is non-commercial and maintained purely out of curiosity, nostalgia, and respect for the history of the web.

If something here reminds you of your first website — mission accomplished.
